Some people can be cruel and the kittens end up being dumped and discarded as if their lives have no meaning whatsoever. If you see ANYONE abandoning an animal remember that this is a class C felony. They can be prosecuted under the statute 578.009. Get their tag # and call the police. In the meantime either pick up the kittens/cats from where they are discarded or stay with them until I can get there. DO NOT TURN YOUR HEAD AND PRETEND YOU DID NOT SEE IT-their lives are worth so much more. We are in desperate need of donations of cat food, litter and other supplies for the "cathouse". HALO Is a group of animal lovers from the Franklin Co. Area that devote their time and money to find homes for the animals at Sullivan Animal Control. Not only do they work tirelessly to find homes but they are loyal to the animals every chance they get to walk, love, pet and feed the animals. These animal lovers are fighting a battle by themselves. This is a very high kill shelter due to the low volume of adoptions. I am asking anyone or everyone to donate, sponsor, or volunteer to help these people. Although we are full at this time, if you decide to sponsor an animal from this organization, we will take responsibility for the animal and make sure the animal is transferred to a no kill facility.
